CAP-XX Develops Industry’s First 3 Volt Thin Prismatic Supercapacitors

CAP-XX (LSE: CPX), a leader in supercapacitors that deliver peak power to support or replace batteries, today announced it has developed the industry’s first 3V thin, prismatic supercapacitors. The company will deploy its 3V technology first in the thin prismatic form to meet the demand for small, inexpensive, energy-efficient power solutions for thin wearables, key FOBs and other IoT devices. CAP-XX will then integrate the 3V technology into its larger prismatic supercapacitors, automotive modules, and other products for high-energy, high-power applications.

Scientists from Skoltech, Moscow State University (MSU) and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) have proposed a new approach to replacing carbon atoms with nitrogen atoms in the supercapacitor’s crystal lattice and developed a novel capacity enhancement method based on carbon lattice modification with the aid of plasma. Their findings can help create the next generation of power sources for portable electronics. The results of their study were published in Nature – Scientific Reports.

Revenues fell to $101.2 billion in Q1,;down 12.9% from $116.2 billion in Q118. This represented the largest y-o-y quarterly decrease since the second quarter of 2009. Memory drove the sales to plunge exacerbated by excess inventory and falling demand from key end markets. Element evaluation is performed on a sample of randomly selected parts from a production lot, (if die, they are assembled into packages). These parts are then subjected to a series of tests selected to verify the reliability of the parts (Electrical, screening, environmental, endurance and mechanical tests) and the production lot from which they originated. The Element Evaluation is performed to show that the parts performance, materials and manufacturing processes are able to meet their specified electrical, mechanical and physical performance characteristics for which they were designed-and as a result, their suitability for use in the application in which they are intended to be used.
