A golden sample is a known authentic part that has been directly purchased from the manufacturer or authorized distributor with the proper documentation.

What is the golden sample use for during the Authenticity Test?

It allows the comparison between of a known authentic part and a suspect part during the execution of different tests, from the surface features to the internal die. It is always recommended that both parts are of the same date and lot code or similar.

Is it possible to perform the Authenticity Test without golden sample?

Yes, it is possible to perform the Authenticity Test with the deep analysis of suspect parts during the different tests in the sequence with verification of consistency, homogeneity, and uniformity within the lot and according to manufacturer documentation. However, the availability of the known authentic part is always recommended to be subjected to the same tests.
