How high-power lasers to test bench for 10 simultaneous samples burn-in works

high power lasers

Challenges we had to face to meet the requirements of power laser users

High power lasers (30 watts in this case) require specific test setups and important safety considerations to avoid dangerous situations happening in DUT/setup failure. Testing many lasers increases the difficulty and introduces additional considerations like heat handling or avoiding a laser to damage another.

Several failure modes exist for a powerful laser. Each one implicates safety issues for the operator and remaining samples tested but can be controlled implementing proper monitoring and safety countermeasures: fiber failure, overheating, voltage drop instabilities.
