This webinar provides a brief overview of the main features embedded in the RHRPMICL1A IC device, a rad-hard integrated current limiter designed and developed by STMicroelectronics.
The device was conceived by ESA to have an ICL (Integrated Current Limiter) of universal use, containing most of the components required for the relevant current limiter functions (such as Latching, Re-triggerable, and Foldback modes), thereby avoiding recurrent redesign and implementation using discrete components.
The high-voltage application allows the device to be used in power buses of 100v or higher, as these are required more and more in satellite applications.
The webinar provides circuit-level details on how to utilise the device in its intended applications and presents experimental results demonstrating its performance. The RHRPMICL1A device has recently been qualified to the QML-V standard for radiation hardness with SMD number 5962-17211.
