The webinar presents an overview of the new Rad Hard POINT of LOAD (POL) developed by STMicroelectronics.
Join us for an in-depth technical presentation on the latest radiation-hardened Point-of-Load (POL) solution developed by STMicroelectronics—a synchronous step-down switching regulator specifically engineered for space applications.
This robust device is capable of converting input voltages ranging from 3.0V to 12.0V, delivering output currents up to 7A. Designed with demanding spaceborne digital systems in mind, such as FPGAS, DSPS, and ASICS, the regulator is built around a peak current mode control architecture. This topology ensures fast transient response and excellent stability across a wide range of dynamic load conditions, maintaining a switching frequency up to 1 MHz for optimal power density and efficiency.
Engineers will appreciate its flexible feature set, which includes configurable options for current sharing—enabling operation in parallel for higher current loads without compromising regulation or thermal performance. Its design emphasizes reliability and predictability in space environments where radiation tolerance and precision are critical.
The device has successfully completed radiation and quality qualification through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), and is listed under the SMD 5962-20208, meeting stringent aerospace and defense standards.
During the webinar, STMicroelectronics experts will walk attendees through the architecture, performance benchmarks, application use cases, and qualification process of this space-grade power solution. Whether you’re designing next-generation satellites or looking to optimize power management in existing systems, this session will provide valuable technical insights.
