ESCC QPL: Editions 254 (October 2024) to 259 (March 2025)

The European Space Components Coordination (ESCC) Qualified Parts List (QPL) is a key reference for manufacturers, suppliers, procurement teams and component engineers working with qualified components for space applications.

This recap covers the main QPL changes published from October 2024 to March 2025, across Editions 254 to 259, including extensions, re-scopes, revisions, one new certificate and several editorial updates. They introduced a series of updates across connectors, capacitors, microcircuits, relays, cables, resistors and related component families.

New Certificate

391, Certificate from Positronic (France)

Edition 257 introduced certificate 391 for electrical rectangular connectors based on type  D*M.

The certificate covers non-removable solder bucket PCB and wire-wrap contacts, removable coaxial and power contacts, removable crimp contacts and press-fit contact configurations. This addition is relevant for teams working with qualified rectangular connector solutions for space hardware.

Extensions

Several certificates were extended during this period, supporting continued listing of existing ESCC-qualified component families.

  • Edition 254  extended certificates 072U from C&K Components, 353C from Exxelia Technologies, and 331D and 367B from Kyocera AVX in Northern Ireland.
  • Edition 255 extended certificates 284H and 336E from Schurter, as well as 303G from STMicroelectronics.
  • Edition 256 extended certificates 155R and 156Q from Souriau Connection Technologies, 241M from Exxelia Magnetics, 256N from Vishay Draloric and 215Q from W.L. Gore.
  • Edition 257 extended certificates 344D and 369B from STMicroelectronics.
  • Edition 258 extended certificate 007V from Draka Fileca.
  • Edition 259  extended certificates 287J from Vishay Sfernice, 365B from Axon’ Cable and 289H from Vishay Electronic.

    Extensions with re-scope

The most relevant changes in this group are the re-scopes, because they affect the exact qualified perimeter of specific certificates.

071U, Certificate from C&K Components (France)

      • Edition 254 extended the qualified range to include variants 154 to 159 of ESCC specification 3401/072.

167L, Certificate from REL STPI (France)

      • Edition 254 removed Horizontal Flange Mount Solder Pin Terminals, variants 5 and 15 of ESCC specification 3602/009, from the qualified range.

      361C, Certificate from STMicroelectronics (France)

      • Edition 255 added hot solder dip finishes for selected transistor types, including 2N5154, 2ST15300 and 2N5153 variants. The same re-scope removed BUX77ESY and BUX78 variants from the qualified range.

      368B, Certificate from STMicroelectronics (France)

      • Edition 255 added hot solder dip finishes for type STPS80A45C in SMD0.5 package, under ESCC 5106/024 variant 04.

301G, Certificate from Souriau Connection Technologies (France)

      • Edition 256 removed glass-fibre reinforced thermoplastic variants from the qualified perimeter due to updated sorting criteria.

251M, Certificate from Exxelia Technologies (France)

      • Edition 256 extended the value range of HT86PS capacitors under ESCC 3006/022 and added HT97PS under ESCC 3006/027 to the qualified range.

      382A, Certificate from NanoXplore (France)

      • Edition 259 removed ESCC 9304/010 variant 2, the NG-Medium FPGA in CLGA package, from the qualified domain due to lack of sales.

      Certificate Revisions

149Qrev1 and 250Lrev1, Certificates from Smiths Interconnect (France and Italy)

      • Edition 255 issued revisions for both certificates following the installation and validation of a new contact retinning machine, detailed by PID CDC43 rev. W.

      285Hrev1, Certificate from Isabellenhütte (Germany)

      • Edition 256 added variant 07 of ESCC detail specification 4001/027 to the qualified range.

      Editorial Updates

      • Edition 254 removed a superseded remark in certificate 184Q from IRCA regarding low manufacturing yield due to raw material aesthetic defects.
      • Edition 257 updated certificate 251M from Exxelia Technologies to state that the maximum qualified value of HT86PS  under ESCC 3006/022 at 20 kV is 15 nF.
      • Edition 258 corrected information in certificate 391 from Positronic: ESCC 3401/002 variant 2 is based on the SDD series instead of SND, while ESCC 3401/098 variant 1 is based on the SND series instead of SDD.

      Procurement and qualification relevance

Across Editions 254 to 259, the most important procurement implications are linked to re-scopes and revisions. These updates affect exact qualified ranges, finishes, variants and manufacturing process references, making them relevant for approved parts list maintenance, procurement checks and compliance review.
